How to Treat Fractures With Supplements

How to Treat Fractures With Supplements

Bones fracture when something hits against them, causing them to break. This could be a car accident or
sports
injury, for example. Fractures are also caused by medical conditions that weaken the bones, like osteoporosis. Once the break is stabilized with a splint or cast, it should naturally heal itself. Supplements can be used to build up bone strength and speed the healing process.

1

Research herbal remedies for fractures. Go online and look through the various resources there. You can also buy a research book.

2

Get your calcium in. Drinking a glass of milk won't cut it, so take a calcium supplement. Studies show that people who increase their calcium ward off fractures and improve their bone health.

3

Strengthen your bones with vitamin D. It helps your body absorb calcium from the intestinal tract. Taking the calcium won't do you much good unless you get it into your system.

4

Take a bone, flesh and cartilage herb. The combination supports bone, flesh and cartilage. It also speeds up the recovery.

5

Buy glucosamine, chondroitin and MSM (methylsulfonylmethane) supplement. It's a three-in-one formula that builds cartilage and improves joint health. Tendons, ligaments and joint tissues benefit from the minerals.

6

Go online to find supplements to treat herbs. There are several websites that sell herbs.

7

Ask the salesperson at your local health food store about supplements. They're experts and should have plenty of advice.

How to Treat Diabetes With Magnetic Therapy

How to Treat Diabetes With Magnetic Therapy

Some people swear that magnetic therapy has done wonders to help ease their pain and ailments. There's been limited scientific studies on the powers of magnets and there are many critics out there. But, it's said that the magnetic field causes particles to move and heat. Blood vessels are widened and blood flow is improved. Magnetic therapy is non-evasive and can be used to treat diabetes.

1

Learn how magnetic therapy can help diabetes. Diabetics often suffer from poor circulation in their legs and feet, causing numbness or pins and needles. Magnets can increase blood flow to your legs and make your swollen feet feel a lot better.

2

Stimulate your pancreas gland by placing 2 magnets on your back, above where your naval would be. Make sure they are relatively strong. Keep them on your back for 15 minutes, twice a day. The magnets will increase the amount of insulin your body releases.

3

Drink 3 to 4 cups of magnetized water a day. It will greatly boost the effectiveness of the magnets you're wearing on your back. The water increases your blood flow and reduces inflammation. Some studies also show that magnetized water regulates your hormone and blood sugar levels.

4

Purchase magnetic insoles for your shoes. There are several on the market. Studies find they provide a lot of relief to diabetics who suffer from peripheral neuropathy.

5

Walk your pain away. The magnets inside the insoles will improve the circulation in your feet. Some also claim to increase your endorphins or natural painkillers. Once your feet and legs feel better, you'll finally be more mobile.

Tips & Warnings

Magnetic therapy is an alternative treatment; be sure to discuss this therapy with your doctor first.

How to Treat Diabetes With Acupressure

How to Treat Diabetes With Acupressure

Every diabetes sufferer knows that there is no cure for diabetes. However, people who have undergone acupressure treatments for their diabetes may disagree. Acupressure uses different pressure points in the body to improve a person's health, and many patients have found that acupressure has either cured or decreased the severity of their diabetes.

1

Speak to your doctor before using acupressure to treat your diabetes. Any type of complementary medicine should always be discussed first with a physician.

2

Find a practitioner of acupressure. Set up a consultation with a holistic medical professional that uses acupressure. Discuss your expectations with the practitioner and see if they can help your diabetes.

3

Get a book on acupressure. Learn about the techniques of acupressure and find out how to apply pressure to the points that are specified by the practice. A good book that you can use to teach you the basics is the "Complete Guide to Acupressure."

4

Apply pressure to the 10 points on your body. You use these 10 pressure points in your treatment for diabetes. These points are found near your ears, neck, elbows, shoulders and knees.

5

Press down on each point for a minute or more a day. You can perform the treatment any time of day and often as you would like.

Tips & Warnings

You are not going to experience any side effects when using the acupressure method to treat your diabetes.

You can perform some research online and find a diagram that highlights the pressure points that you are going to use to treat diabetes. A good place to start is the Acupressure Institute website.

How to Treat Depression Naturally

How to Treat Depression Naturally

Depression is something that I don't have personal experience with, but I know people who do. If you suffer from it, there are three basic things you can do. You can take medication that your doctor prescribes, you can treat it naturally, or you can do a combination of both. The treatment options you choose will depend on your situation and what you think is best.

As an herbalist, I've done plenty of research on natural treatment options. And, I've watched them work on people first hand. What follows are some ideas that will help you manage your depression naturally.

Things You'll Need:

your favorite exercise - try walking, dancing, hiking, or anything else you enjoy

natural sunlight or a special lamp designed to treat Seasonal Depression

healthy eating habits

multi vitamin

herbs typically used for depression such as St. John's Wort, Lemon Balm, Oatstraw, Borage, Ginseng

1

Exercise has been known to help depression. And the good news is, it doesn't matter what kind you do. Choose an activity that you enjoy and that you will stick with. Shoot for 30 minutes a day or more, depending on your level of fitness. It works because it helps ease the symptoms and helps encourage overall good health.

2

Natural sunlight seems to work best for people who have seasonal depression. But, the extra sunlight can help all forms of depression. Make it a point to get at least 15 minutes of natural sunlight (or more) a day. Be sure to wear sunscreen! Or, you can buy a special lamp that is designed to replace natural sunlight.

3

In general, it is a good idea to eat a balanced, healthy diet. But there are also some foods that can help nourish the central nervous system and help with depression. Oatmeal is one of the best foods out there for this purpose. Make it a point to have one serving a day. Also make sure to take a multi vitamin to make sure you get everything you need.

4

The most used herb for depression is St. John's Wort. According to the German Commission E, an organization based out of Germany that reviews the effectiveness of herbs, says that it is useful for mild to moderate depression. Be careful not to take St. John's Worth if you are on prescription anti-depression medication. It has to be one or the other.

There are some herbs that help nourish and heal the nervous system. These herbs include oatstraw, chamomile, lemon balm, and borage. These herbs can be taken on a daily basis and likely don't conflict with the prescription medication.

Ginseng is a type of herb called an adaptogen. Adaptogen herbs have a balancing affect on the body. Depression can signify a lack of balance. So herbs like ginseng can help with depression and other nervous system complaints indirectly.

Tips & Warnings

Depression is so complex, it is not a good idea to try to treat yourself.

Your best bet is to find a psychiatrist and psychologist who are supportive of your efforts to try natural remedies for it.

Make sure the herbs you choose do not conflict with your medication. Consult your doctor or pharmacist to make sure.

How to Gather Energy for Healing

How to Gather Energy for Healing

To effectively conduct an energy treatment session, a practitioner must be in proper alignment with their mental and spiritual energies. As author Barbara Ann Brennan stated, "Before (a day) of healing, it is very important for you to gather energy and focus on your purposes." Learn how to prepare for energy healing by reading the tips below.

1

Perform the self-chakra charge. This exercise can be done in bed before rising in the morning. Simply hold each position for one minute while focusing on healing energy flowing into your body. The positions are as follows: foot to ankle, ankle to knee, knee to hip, (repeat with other leg), hip to hip, groin to stomach, stomach to heart, shoulder to shoulder, elbows, hands, heart to throat, throat to forehead, forehead to top of head, top of head to area 6 to 12 inches above the head.

2

Stretch your muscles to enhance further the flow of energy throughout your body. See the resource section for a list of websites concerning total body stretches.

3

Move your joints by flexing and extending your fingers, toes, ankles, knees, wrists and elbows. In addition, perform neck rolls, trunk twists, deep knee bends and arm circles to get energy moving through your body's meridians.

4

Meditate before to enhance positive energy and focus. Sit in a comfortable position and center yourself. Visualize energy being pulled up from the earth through your spine and spreading throughout your body. Next picture a beam of healing energy flowing down your head and through your body. Continue for 15 to 20 minutes or until the exercise feels complete.

5

Practice your breathing. Sit in a comfortable position and concentrate on your natural breathing rhythm for about five minutes to quiet your mind. When you are ready, send the mental command "Get Out!" to anything negative that you are holding in your body. See your negative emotions being carried away as you forcefully exhale. Repeat until all unwanted emotions are cleared from your body.

6

Focus on your client for one minute prior to treatment. According to Brennan, you should spend at least 60 seconds holding your mind on your patient, without other thoughts, while drawing in energy in preparation for healing.

7

Meditate on your intent. Energy follows thought, therefore, before beginning your healing, focus on the purpose of your session. Some examples of inner phrases include: "My intent is for the universal energy to heal this lady and go wherever her body needs it," or "My intent is for the ultimate good of my client."

How to Wear Animal Prints

How to Wear Animal Prints

Wearing animal print fashions can really make a bold statement. In and out of the fashion world for centuries now, animal prints like the most-popular leopard print can be classy and elegant or a big mistake. Follow the tips below for wearing animal prints.

Step
1

Wear animal prints in classic, conservative lines. A tasteful trench style dress, a simple blouse or a knee-length straight skirt can look very elegant.

Step
2

Avoid wearing clothing that is too revealing. Short skirts, hotpants, tight pants, or a low-cut top will not look good in animal print.

Step
3

Wear minimal accessories with animal prints. Because the prints are so busy, accessories fight visually with the pattern. Opt for a simple accessory like a black pair of simple shoes or a simple black belt around a dress. Wear minimal jewelry.

Step
4

Mix and match the animal print with solid, basic colors only. Black seems to work the best. Dark denim, white, or even a splash of red may look good with animal prints also.

Step
5

Flatter your figure when wearing animal prints. All over prints look best on very fit figures. Use this to your advantage by drawing attention away from flawed areas with wild prints. Put an animal print belt around a tiny waist, or tie an animal print scarf above some great cleavage. Show off a sexy top half while hiding a large rear or hips by pairing an animal print blouse with a black skirt.

Step
6

Remember that a little goes a long way. Because animal prints are such a bold choice, consider using just an accessory such as a snake-print handbag, leopard print shoes or a scarf.

How to Wear an Asymmetrical Top

How to Wear an Asymmetrical Top

Asymmetrical tops are all the rage right now. This style, which has many variations, can add an interesting and unusual twist to otherwise predictable fabrics and cuts. Incorporate a few of these well-choosen pieces into your wardrobe and show off your fashion sense.

Things You'll Need:

Asymmetrical top

Jeans

Trousers

Pencil skirt

Rouched top

Aerobic wear

Jewelry

Step
1

Look for asymmetrical tops that flatter your figure. For instance, if you have a long neck and pretty shoulders, find a one-shoulder top that calls attention to this area. Or if you have a flat stomach, select a top with an uneven hem that shows off a little skin.

Step
2

Offset the trendiness of your top by pairing it with classic jeans or pants. This will let the shirt take center stage with your outfit and will keep the lines simple and clean.

Step
3

Choose well-cut trousers or a pencil skirt to make an asymmetrical top work appropriate. Try different cuts and fits to see what suits the top the best.

Step
4

Add interest to a plain cotton top or t-shirt by selecting one with rouching on one side. This detail can also help give the illusion of a thinner waistline.

Step
5

Spice up a plain blouse or sweater by selecting one with an unusual asymmetrical detail. You might find one with an off-center seam or neckline, or a hem that falls longer on one side and gives a fashion forward look to an otherwise conservative item.

Step
6

Make an asymmetrical top take your gym wardrobe up a notch. You can find aerobic and yoga tops in this style that will show off your personal style.

Step
7

Select a longer asymmetrical top with skinny pants for a modern silhouette. Opt for shoe booties and a long scarf to finish the look.

Tips & Warnings

Use accessories sparingly to show off the lines of the top. Wear a few long necklaces, chunky bangles or bold earrings if they work with the top, but not all three at once.

Make a trendy asymmetrical top work for business or a more formal gathering by wearing a fitted blazer or long tailored cardigan with it.

Steer clear of wearing a skirt with an asymmetrical hemline with an asymmetrical shirt. This can be overdone and likely won't show off either piece to its full effect.

How to Wear a Pareo

How to Wear a Pareo

The pareo has its origins in the islands of Tahiti. A traditional pareo, a brightly colored cotton rectangle decorated with hibiscus flowers or tapa patterns, is a wrap-around skirt worn by women. Today, the garment enjoys more widespread popularity, although women usually wear it to cover their entire torso below the shoulders. If you love the colors and the fabrics, but don’t know exactly how to wear a pareo, read on.

Things You'll Need:

A rectangular length of fabric (pareo)

Step
1

Start with the fabric of your pareo centered in back. Wrap the pareo around your back and bring the fabric under each arm. Pull it snugly around your body, crossing the corners in the middle of your chest. Continue to bring the corners around your neck and tie behind your head. This tie will create a modest overlap of fabric in the front.

Step
2

For a nice strapless look, begin by centering your pareo on your back. Wrap the pareo snugly across your back and bring the ends to your front under your arms. Knot the corners in the middle of your chest. You won’t get any overlap with this tie, but the extra fabric will make soft folds in front, providing some additional coverage.

Step
3

Start with the center of your pareo under your right arm. Wrap the fabric around your body, front and back, crossing the corners under your left arm. Bring the corners up in front of and behind your shoulder and knot the fabric on top of your left shoulder. This tie will give you one “strap” and the overlap under your arm will keep you covered.

Step
4

This tie is nice if you have an especially generous length of fabric. Center the fabric in the middle of your back. Wrap the pareo around your back and under your arms, meeting the corners in the center of your chest. Cross the ends together a couple of times so you have a “rope” of fabric in the center of your chest. Separate the ends and bring them around your neck to tie in the back.

Tips & Warnings

Have fun wearing a pareo--you can tie it so you're as modest or outrageous as you please.
